The Elevator by Hamed Al Harthy
This piece came by as a result of a mini existential dread episode between my colleague and me, as we were waiting for the elevator to come down a senior gentleman came to wait with us and my colleague just looked at me and asked “until when?”
The piece is heavily inspired by one of my favorite paintings “Hotel Room” by Edward Hopper, where I tried to invoke a similar heavy feeling or atmosphere.

Artist Statement:
I am Hamed Al-Harthy a self taught digital artist.
I have always been fascinated by art and have been at it ever since I could hold a pencil. Art to me is an outlet, which allows me to best express myself and my ideas. I would describe my art as surreal with traditional elements. Although my work is done on digital mediums, I try to employ traditional techniques to give my work an oil painting feel.
