“Local Witchcraft” is a digital illustration inspired by the shock of how widespreaded this practice is becoming in our community, and the folktales and the stories I’ve personally heard from close friends and family about witchcraft practices. Exclusively illustrating a dead chicken as it’s used in most of these rituals.

Bashayer Al Naaimi is a multimedia artist, graphic designer and an architecture engineering graduate. Driven heavily by her emotions and inspired by people, music, her surroundings and everyday life and encounters. She finds art therapeutic and a liberating medium for her thoughts, allowing her to speak out loud and express herself freely.
